March Madness!

(clever title huh?) This entry will be more of a recap of this month in pictures!

We attended the annual Kids Co-op auction and had a great time with friends, here are the husbands smiling before we spent all their money....

Jacob has turned into a voracious reader and to help him out with his vocabulary we've taken up Scrabble! He's pretty good and I've enjoyed our one on one time!
Soccer season is finally here! Jacob loves to practice any chance he gets! Here's Jake and Jack, er excuse me, Spiderman and Jengo Fett kickin' the ball around....
The Mighty Buffalo's
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Jake set his traps again this year....no Leprechaun BUT  a short note and some Lucky Charms!

Happy Spring! Great excuse for a weekend trip to Brianhead!

With the arrival of spring, we welcomed our first crop basket from our CSA Quail Hollow Farms. Some swiss chard, collard greens, a few lettuces, carrots, radishes, and a Charlie!

8 months and on the go!

A little late with this post...only because I am so busy chasing THIS guy! Charlie is truly a joy to be with everyday and watching him learn new things and remember those from the day before, I know is how I should be spending my days! Charlie is remembering faces and voices, it helps that we are lucky to see our friends often! He and Jacob play 'chase' every afternoon after school, they play 'echo' at breakfast, and hug and kiss first thing in the morning!  Charlie is wearing through the 'knees' of his pants and I can't wait to start posting pictures of Easter clothes soon! :0) Oh yes, I should share... that his first word was 'Pa-Pa'! I am totally jealous, but not surprised! Jacob's first word was 'Da-Da' followed by 'Daisy'...let's hope I can sway Charlie my way!

Spring is almost here!

We've been busy planning our garden for spring! Turns out that Las Vegas is a great place for growing a large list of vegetables thanks to our extra long seasons. Dave built a new box, and it is big enough to hold the veggies we're testing out this year! These include: Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Zucchini, Carrots, Green Beans, Lettuce Mix, Red Peppers, Jalapenos, small cherry and grape tomatoes. On the other side of our yard, we have a smaller box that housed our herb garden last year. We're starting from seed this time round, and we'll have cilantro, basil, parsley, chives, and rosemary. I did some searching and found an amazing seed company in Vermont that has a great history of producing amazing organic seeds. Check them out:

I'm looking forward to learning more about organic gardening through trial and error. There's a thousand seeds in a pack which is all the motivation I need to keep on trying!
