Yay! It's Orchard Day! The day started at 6am and for the next 3 1/2 hours until it was time to meet up I had to keep the kid from hittin' his head too hard on the ceiling! We were VERY lucky to have Dave with us. He took the morning off, packed up his Swiss army knife and off we went! Both boys had a great time picking apples and getting dirty. Last year being a new co-op mom, I couldn't completely appreciate the dirt trails and bug infested crops. This year I was getting excited over rotten apples and cobweb covered pumpkins! We rolled out of there with 5 prize winning pumpkins, 5 zucchini (see above), 2 lbs of soft yellowish apples (have no idea what kind they are) and 3 lbs of granny smith! Yeah...think we have too many apples.....We were done after the yellow kind but Jacob's favorite apples are Granny Smiths (thanks to the taste test last year in the 4's) and how could I say no.....every apple was the perfect apple that day! We had a great time as a family and I know the memories we made were worth dropping $35! Oh wait $35 PLUS admission! Did I mention how many pies we need to make to use up the apples? Yeah, I'll keep y'all posted. I'm snack mom coming up....guess what I'm bringing?

Fun family day! $35 is really a good deal for all of those great finds. Go to one of the over priced pumpkin patches and you will drop that on two pumpkins.
I am loving it that you are blogging now!
We threw $30 to the lady taking the admissions money. We didn't have that much stuff, but didn't want to stand in the hellish line to check out. Had a good time though.
We got 4 pumpkins (not prize winning though) and a few pears for $10. It was definitely fun and nice that Dave had his knife. The mural is a good place for pictures.
