Before the last frost

On a gardening scale of 1-10, last year I would put my garden at about a 6. I had a small yield of delicious veggies and a HUGE yield of herbs! I think the reason my veggies struggled is that I planted them outdoors too soon and the wind kept knocking them out! This year I invested in a lamp to help my seeds start earlier and grow indoors. My beans and cucumbers are about ready to make the switch outdoors and not far behind are my onions, basil, and cilantro.

I begged my friends to save their egg cartons for me!

I added some special seed starting soil, and a few seeds in each spot. Some fit into my trays from last year, and the rest I covered in plastic wrap to hold in moisture.

Here is a picture of them at 2 1/2 weeks!
Next step was to move them into larger containers, giving the roots more room to grow!

I have a couple of more cartons of seeds to start this weekend, including pear and cherry tomatoes, and summer squash! I am hoping my garden will rate at about an 8 this year, stay tuned for updates and calls for help from under the overgrown zucchini and squash vines!

I'm so impressed. I would love to have a garden, but man I do not have your diligence. We have a kit, ready to plant, but it's all the other stuff I'm not so good at. I can't wait to follow your progress!

Yea! It's getting nicer outside! I can't wait to see what your garden yields this season. It will only get easier year by year.
