Willy WOnkA and the gum ball machines...

Mrs. Blaser's 3rd grade class
Gum Ball Mania Machine
*high five* to Jacob's teacher for making reading F-U-N! 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' is already a fun story to begin with, but she added a performance and science element to it as well! LOVE HER!! The kids imagined, designed, and then built their own fully functioning gum ball machines! Some Dads even stopped by to help (DAVE of course!), and lots of miscellaneous items were collected for construction. The class then prepared to put on a show and present these machines, along with a few fun Oompa Loompa songs! Jacob was cast as Charlie Bucket, and entered stage left, complete with 'his' version of a british accent!! His book report this month happened to coincide with this project and he chose to read 'BOY' the autobiography of Roald Dahl. I am very grateful that reading comes easy to him but more that he seems to really ENJOY it!
 Happy Nevada Reading Week!

What a great way to get kids enthused about reading. I hope you have some video of this event too. The gum ball machine looks great. Congrats to Jacob for being such a good Charlie Bucket.
